Poiesz (1923)

On April 19, 1923, Lodewijk Poiesz opened a vegetable shop of 12m2 together with his Wietske on Havenstraat in Sneek. Exactly a century later, the vegetable shop in Sneek has grown into the supermarket of the North, with more than 70 supermarkets and liquor stores in the provinces of Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, and Flevoland. Every day, over 5,000 employees do their best to serve the customers as well as possible. Service, quality, and freshness are the aspects in which Poiesz aims to excel, as evidenced by the Noordertrots brand. Only products of high quality and Northern origin deserve the Noordertrots label. This allows customers to enjoy the tastiest Northern specialties, such as sugar bread, orange cake, dry sausage, and dairy products made from milk from Northern farmers. The Noordertrots products clearly demonstrate that Poiesz, as a family business, feels connected to the region in which it operates.

This commitment is also evident in the annual Youth Sponsorship Campaign, where Poiesz supports youth departments of associations in the vicinity of its branches. Poiesz has been a household name in the North for over 100 years and continues to build with confidence, so that future generations can also rely on Poiesz!
