A WARM WELCOME!
The Grocery Museum is located in a beautiful 17th-century building in the historic city center of Utrecht.
The building in Utrecht was carefully renovated in 2022 and arranged in such a way that the collection is well presented. The new museum is the successor to the Utrecht ‘Betje Boerhave shop and museum.
In the museum, a grocery store has also been meticulously recreated so that you immediately get the feeling of stepping into the past.
This feeling is enhanced because, in the store, just like in the old days, you can buy groceries and delicacies.
EXHIBITION
In addition to the historical shop, the Grocery Museum consists of beautiful exhibition spaces.
Unique grocery items are displayed in beautiful showcases, such as soap in packaging from World War II to the present, beautiful tins, and many products that customers could buy in the past.
HISTORICAL COLLECTION
The Grocery Museum is neatly arranged, taking the visitor on a journey through history.
It begins right at the fully furnished little shop where you can experience how a grocery store looked in the past. In addition to the shop, the museum has a separate exhibition hall where the highlights from the past are displayed, such as the beautiful packaging.
